Clinical research and clinical studies unit

The Clinical Research and Clinical Trials Unit (UIC EECC) is the unit of the Biobizkaia Institute, with the capacity to provide advice and specialized epidemiological, methodological and statistical coordination, and offer full support from the early stages of the development of a research study until the end, understood as; any clinical trial, observational study, research project, or data collection project.

The unit will offer cross-cutting supportto all research studies from their design, continuing with the regulatory and contractual process, subsequent execution, and concluding with the closure and analysis of the study.

To provide this support, the UIC EECChas four subunits: Methodological Support, Regulation and Ethics, Contract Management, and Support for the Execution of Clinical Research (SEIC).

Conclude that the unit is integrated into the IIS quality management system, with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all subunits, in compliance with the regulations and standards governing clinical research.

Financing and Financial Management

  • Preparation and monitoring of budgets associated with the UIC EECC.
  • Coordination with the project management and contract management departments to identify funding for research studies and projects.
  • Coordination with the institute's financial and economic department to manage the invoicing of research studies in which the UIC EECC participates.
