Workspaces and event organisation at Biobizkaia
The headquarters of the Biobizkaia Institute is a modern and sustainable building within the HU Cruces hospital complex. We have several rooms with different capacities to serve, mainly, research, technical and research support staff. At important events, these spaces are open to entities, institutions, companies and collaborating organisations.
The auditorium is a functional and modern space, with a minimalist design, with good accessibility as it is located on the ground floor, with a large hall, suitable for the organisation of conferences or events. Capacity for an audience of 60 seated people.
In addition, we have 7 more rooms with different capacities for work.
Information of interest for events
The events will be held within the Biobizkaia Institute's hours, that is, from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In the summer period, from June 1 to September 30, this schedule is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The minimum advance notice for requesting these spaces is at least 1 month prior to the date of the event.
Each request will be studied to ensure that the necessary services, lighting, air conditioning, cleaning and use of technical and support means are available.
For each request, a personalized budget will be prepared with details of the services included, and will be sent to the applicant. Some services may require direct contracting by the organizing entity. The IIS Biobizkaia will provide a list of suppliers with whom the contracting of a catering service can be managed, as well as any additional technical assistance required. These and other eventual services are not included in the applicable rates, and the hiring and payment of these will be the responsibility of the event organizers.
Any damage to the IIS Biobizkaia facilities caused by their use will be the responsibility of the person or entity organizing the event.
The Institute is not responsible for the theft or damage to materials owned by the person or entity organizing and those intended for the development of the event.

Auditorium
Information about the auditorium
The Institute's presentations and/or conferences are held in the auditorium. Located on the ground floor of the building, which is accessed through a large hall. Maximum capacity for 60 people, with the possibility of different seating arrangements.
The auditorium has a comprehensive control system, public address system, etc. It has a lectern and a large speaker's table.
Meeting rooms
Information about meeting rooms
The available meeting rooms are located on the fourth floor of the building. The largest of the meeting rooms has an approximate size of 42 m2 with a maximum capacity of 20 people. Its modular configuration allows great flexibility.
It includes a computer, a videoconferencing system with an 86" screen.
This room is very close to the social area, where a cocktail/coffee can be organised in a more relaxed environment.
Additionally, there are additional rooms nearby on this fourth floor, which could be used in parallel, if necessary. These rooms have dimensions of approximately 12 m2 and a capacity of 8 people. They include a TV screen associated with a computer and a telephone, webcam, microphone and speaker designed for videoconferencing.
Social zone
Information about the social area
The social area is available to hold all kinds of informal meetings or to complement the activities carried out in the auditorium and meeting rooms. The space is 45 m2, equipped with modern furniture that facilitates a more informal meeting.
In this space, there is the possibility of hiring catering services, which are adapted to the event. In addition, we have WIFI throughout the facility.

*VAT not included - The IIS Biobizkaia may arrange the contracting of a catering service, as well as any additional technical assistance and support required. These and other eventual services not included in this rate will be individually budgeted upon request.
